With Bharat Jodo, Rahul creating hatred, defaming India : Defence minister Rajnath Singh

Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of spreading hatred among people in order to gain power, and alleged that he was tarnishing India’s image on international platforms. Addressing a programme organised by the Madhya Pradesh government to provide land rights of residential plots to the poor in the state’s Singrauli district, located around 650 kms from here, Singh asked Gandhi not to play with India’s “prestige and pride”.

63 lakh cases pending in lower courts due to ‘lack of counsel’, says National Judicial Data Grid

Of the over four crore cases pending in lower courts in the country, about 63 lakh cases remain undecided because of non-availability of counsel, according to the National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG), as of January 20. At least 78% of such cases are criminal and the rest civil.

Rahul Gandhi leads yatra amid blast-boosted security

Rahul Gandhi led his Bharat Jodo Yatra from Hiranagar in J&K’s Kathua district Sunday amid tight security in the wake of twin blasts in Jammu a day earlier that left nine injured. After a day-long halt, the Congress leader set out around 7am from Hiranagar along the Jammu-Pathankot highway, marked by heavy presence of security forces. Officials said the police, CRPF and other agencies were keeping vigil.

9 hurt in twin blasts on Jammu outskirts

At least nine people were wounded in two synchronised explosions that police suspect were set off by IEDs planted in two vehicles parked in the busy industrial area of Narwal on the outskirts of Jammu city between 11am and 11.20am Saturday.
