World's 2nd private moon mission headed by PIO

India's Astrobotic's Peregrine lander, the second private mission to the moon, will lift off on Monday with over 80,000 messages from kids worldwide and a piece of Mount Everest. The mission director, Sharad Bhaskaran, has early India connections. The touchdown is scheduled for February 23 on the moon's Bay of Stickiness. This will be the first US lunar landing since Apollo 17, and it launches under Nasa's Commercial Lunar Payload Services Initiative with the help of United Launch Alliance's Vulcan Centaur rocket.

Badminton Coach sentenced to 5 year rigorous imprisonment for sexually abusing student

A 27-year-old coach has been sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment by a special POCSO court for sexually abusing a 10-year-old student during badminton practice. The judge emphasized that slapping and pinching cannot be considered as punishment for mistakes. The victim had been coached by the accused for a month and a half prior to the incident. The judge stated that the intentional touching and inappropriate punishment were unacceptable. The accused was fined Rs 5,000 and instructed to pay it to the victim.

Special school for special children, super moms take the rein

Sindhura Reddy and Seema Shet, mothers of autistic children, have started their own special schools in the city. Sindhura Reddy has started a mainstream CBSE school inclusive to children with special needs and a special school called Teach and Learn Child Development Centre. Seema Shet co-founded Beyond Spectrum, a special school in Manikonda. Other parents complain about the lack of a special education wing in schools. The duo's schools provide shadow teachers, therapists, and individual education plans. Therapies like speech, occupational, and behavioral therapies are conducted for kids.
