Desi flyers asked to avoid travel to South Korea, Iran, Italy

With a spike in coronavirus cases, mainly in countries outside China, India has once again revised its travel advisory asking citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Republic of Korea, Iran and Italy. Besides, travellers from Republic of Korea, Iran and Italy or having such travel history since February 10 may be quarantined for 14 days on arrival to India, the health ministry’s fresh advisory said.

Surrogacy bill to benefit widows & divorcees too

The Cabinet on Wednesday approved the Surrogacy (Regulation) Bill, 2020 allowing a “willing woman” and not just a “close relative” to become a surrogate mother and proposing that widows and divorced women can also benefit from its provisions, besides infertile Indian couples. The bill aims to regulate surrogacy while prohibiting commercial surrogacy and allowing altruistic ones.
