Covid-19 death toll rises to 872 in country; cases climb to 27,892: Health ministry

The death toll due to Covid-19 rose to 872 and the number of cases climbed to 27,892 in the country on Monday, according to the Union Health Ministry. The number of active Covid-19 cases stood at 20,835 while 6,184 people were cured and discharged, and one patient has migrated, the ministry said.

Govt issues dos & don’ts for workers at airports

The government has prescribed a minimum spacing of one metre between personnel manning counters at airports where passengers need to queue up like security, immigration and customs. Staffers providing these vital services have been categorised as being at “low risk” and advised to use triple layer masks and gloves while on the job, according to the health ministry’s “guidelines on rational use of personal protective equipment (PPE)”.
