Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on April 22

Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated on April 22 as the crescent moon was not seen marking the end of the fasting month of Ramzan, Muslim religious scholars said on Thursday.The scholars, including India Union Muslim League (IUML) state president Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal, said that since the crescent moon was not seen, Eid would be celebrated on Saturday.

CBI files FIR against Oxfam, searches office in FCRA case

The CBI registered the case on the basis of a complaint from the Union home ministry, which had suspended Oxfam India’s FCRA licence last year. The complaint alleges that Oxfam India received at least Rs 1.5 crore directly into its ‘foreign contribution utilisation’ account instead of the designated bank account between 2013 and 2016.
