Omicron variant in India: Patient No. 1 fled country before confirmation

One of two Covid-19 Omicron cases in Bengaluru, a 66-year-old traveller from South Africa who was the first to test positive (on November 21, though the variant had not been determined then), discreetly left Bengaluru on a flight to Dubai a few days ago.
