Weekly Covid deaths drop below 200, lowest in 2 years

India recorded less than 200 deaths from Covid-19 in the week ending Sunday, the lowest toll from the pandemic since the week after the country went into total lockdown on March 25, 2020. Even as global cases of Covid surged by 4% in the last seven days (till Saturday), India again reported a 40% fall in infections in the week ending Sunday.
