The humiliating defeat of Shiv Sena candidate Sanjay Pawar in the high stakes Rajya Sabha polls on Friday is being seen as a major setback for the MVA government and for CM Uddhav Thackeray. Each governing party got their stalwarts elected, but Sena’s second candidate lost to BJP’s third candidate Dhananjay Mahadik in the prestige battle between the former allies for the sixth RS seat.
