UP stole a march over the rest of the country with seven of 18 toppers in the CISCE Class XII examination, the results of which were declared Sunday. Eighteen students shared the top rank with a score of 99.75%. Bengal came second with six toppers (three from Kolkata), Tamil Nadu third with three—all of them from Chennai. A student each from Maharashtra’s Thane and Haryana’s Gurugram made it to the top rankings.
