27% dip in weekly Covid cases, present surge may have peaked

The current Covid-19 surge in the country appears to have peaked, with cases in the last seven days down 27% as compared to the preceding week's tally, marking the first decline in the seven-day case count in 13 weeks since the beginning of February. Other indicators such as fatalities, active cases and the positivity rate too registered a drop.
