Sengol claims bogus: Congress; BJP slams ‘haters of culture’

Accusing PM Modi and “his drumbeaters” of creating a “bogus” narrative about the ‘sengol’ (sceptre) to be installed in the new Parliament hall, Congress on Friday said there was no documented evidence that the sceptre was given by the British to first PM Jawaharlal Nehru as a symbol of transfer of power.
