J&K lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha has said that peace is becoming a permanent feature in the union territory, from Srinagar’s Lal Chowk to India's Red Fort, while inaugurating three projects of the Smart City in Srinagar. He added that those who benefited from the conflict in Kashmir were now seeing the end of "the making of conflict as an industry" and the fall of terrorism and separatism. Sinha criticized those who enforced strikes and said development had been choked in the region for years, with benefits going only to "conflict profiteers.
