Deve Gowda puts seal on BJP pact, rumblings in JD(S)

The JD(S) national president's confirmation of the tie-up came two days after BJP's ex-Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa appeared to spill the beans about a pre-poll understanding before the two sides could make a formal announcement. Deve Gowda told reporters in Bengaluru that BJP and JD(S) were starting out on 'an equal footing' in Karnataka. "A final meeting between HDK (Deve Gowda's son) and PM Modi will decide the seats we will contest," he said.
