Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged to form a committee to address the demands of the Madigas, a Scheduled Caste (SC) community, for categorisation of SCs. Speaking at a rally organised by the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS), Modi assured the community that the government would stand with them in their struggle for justice. He also apologised for the past betrayals of political parties and leaders. Modi criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the Congress party, accusing them of insulting Dalit leaders.
