The government has allocated Rs 12,461 crore to aid in constructing hydel projects totaling 31,350 MW over eight years. Starting from 2024-25, the scheme provides budgetary support for infrastructure and is applicable to hydro power projects above 25 MW capacity, including private sector and pumped storage power projects.
