When Bachchan spoke on dividing his property

In a 2011 interview, Amitabh Bachchan stated he would equally divide his property between daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda and son Abhishek Bachchan. He emphasized no differentiation between them. Senior Bachchan revealed that he and his wife Jaya made a decision together many years ago. He emphasized that, despite society's tendency to view daughters as ‘paraya dhan,’ or belonging to their husband’s family, he strongly believes that his daughter, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, holds the same rights as his son, Abhishek Bachchan.
