Govt brings 4 more sectors under GHG emissions cut regime

India has expanded its greenhouse gas emission intensity reduction regime to include petroleum refinery, petrochemicals, textiles, and secondary aluminium sectors. Over 200 industrial units must now meet specific reduction targets by 2026-27, facing penalties for non-compliance. This move aligns with India's net-zero goals and climate action targets.
